Wednesday, July 8, 2015 was a beautiful sunny day! It was also the day of the 2015 Canadian Tire Brockville Rotary Golf Classic tournament and banquet hosted by the Brockville Country Club. The Golf Classic is a major fund raiser for the Brockville and District Rotary Clubs. Over 200 golfers participated with BCC's PGA Pro Derek MacDonald organizing two shotguns; one in the morning and one in the afternoon to handle the players. Chef Jason and Emily then presented a tasty hip-of-beef buffet to approximately 300 golfers and guests in the "Granite Hall". Rotary organizers presented a continuous steam of activities including a huge silent auction. When it was all said and done, the Rotary executive announced over $110,000 raised for their many community initiatives.
In addition to title sponsor Canadian Tire Brockville, over 50 organizations sponsored some aspect of the Rotary Golf Classic. Brockville Country Club members and staff are pleased to loan the course for the day by hosting and contributing to making the annual Rotary Classic a success.
And what would the golfing highlight be for the day? How about a Hole-in-One? That's right! Jordan McMann got a hole-in-one during the Rotary Classic and with it a neat golf package vacation trip to Indiana.
CONGRATULATIONS to the Rotary Club organizers. It was a wonderful and successful day. The Brockville Country Club looks forward to hosting the 2016 Canadian Tire Brockville Rotary Golf Classic.
